Position:        Project and Communities Coordinator

Location:       Yellowknife Office (this is not a remote work position).     .

Rate of pay:  $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Reporting:    This position reports to and takes direction from the Executive Director

Scope of Work

 

The intent of this position is to provide support to the organization and to a variety of food related projects and events and build community within the food sector.  This is a new position so there is room to make it your own.  You must love growing food, harvesting food, cooking food, processing food and/or eating food!


 

Approach

o   Represent the TAA with integrity and professionalism at all times

o   Generate ideas and encourage ideas in others.

o   Demonstrate creativity, flexibility and responsiveness.

o   Speak your mind honestly, openly and without hesitation.

o   Solve problems, or at least help generate solutions.

o   Be interested in people and the NWT food system

o   Work collaboratively and respectfully with all staff and contractors

 

Job tasks

 

Events

·       Help organize and support TAA Events including webinars, Culinary Festival, and annual Conference

·       Coordinate Volunteers

·       Setup and maintain event records

·       Organize, schedule and promote webinars

 

Projects

·       Coordinate project work according to project management practises (which means a LOT of planning)

·       Work with sector members to develop food tourism projects

·       Assist with Venture Ready National Program

 

Research

·       Conduct internet environment scans and food related research

·       Draft resulting reports

·       Seve as point person for external researchers

·       Coordinate farmer led research activities

 

Communities

·       Have regular outreach communication with sector members and groups

·       Develop NWT food and beverage community

·       Build online community

·       Support northern youth food projects

 

Other duties and admin

·       Book travel

·       Write and read reports

·       Filing

·       Support on site retail and interpretive centre

·       Book and support meeting room rentals

·       Respond to general enquiries
