Job Description

 

Position:        Communications and Events Coordinator

Location:       Yellowknife Office (this is not a remote work position).     .

Reporting:    This position reports to and takes direction from the Executive Director

Scope of Work

The intent of this position is to provide support to the organization and to a variety of food sector projects and build community within the food sector.  This is a multi-focused position that works to deadlines.  You must love to connect and talk but also paperwork and performance.

 

Approach

o   Represent the TAA with integrity and professionalism at all times

o   Generate ideas and encourage ideas in others.

o   Demonstrate creativity, flexibility and responsiveness.

o   Speak your mind honestly, openly and without hesitation.

o   Solve problems, or at least help generate solutions.

o   Be interested in people and the NWT food system

o   Work collaboratively and respectfully with all staff and contractors

 

Job tasks

 

Communications

·       Produce monthly e-newsletter to brand standards and distribute.

·       Draft and post on Instagram and Facebook

·       Record and edit short videos

·       Coordinate the “I am NWT Agrifood “ project

·       Manage organizational You tube

·       Liaise with graphic designers

·       Help create culinary tourism projects, initiatives and products.

·       Meet with sector members to provide communications assistance and problem solving.

·       Contribute to development of Discovery Centre resources

 

Events

·       Develop and deliver Discovery Centre events

·       Coordinate annual GROW NWT conference

·       Coordinate the NWT Culinary Festival

·       Set up and participate in tradeshows including – YK Chamber of Commerce Tradeshow, Folk on the Rocks Vendors tent, Multicultural Festival.

·       Assist with member pop up events

·       Coordinate and set up webinars and training events

 

Other duties and admin

·       Support on site retail and information centre

·       Book and support meeting room rentals
